Our Friday Night Out!

Friday night was HSL 49's Dining In. It was a formal dinner at The US Grant Hotel. All the Officers wore their Dress White Uniforms and the women were in lovely dresses. There was a great speech by a Rear Admiral, some good visiting with the other spouses and a yummy dinner to end it. Mason slept all but maybe the last 30 minutes, but after a quick feeding, he was good to go! We had a nice night out and enjoyed everyones company.

Then Saturday night we went to dinner with Mark at our favorite little place, and then Blade, I and Mason went to a movie for the first time since we've had our little guy! Dinner and a movie was our go to date night before Mason, and we had been missing the movies. So we picked a movie that had been out for a few weeks, and we went to the latest showing...hoping that the combo would make for the least amount of people there. And it worked perfectly, and he even slept through the whole thing. We saw "I Love you, Man", and it was pretty funny. Then today we went to church, lunch at Panera Bread, and studying for Blade up at base. So once again, another good weekend!

Going to work with Daddy...

Our weekend went by fast, but at least we got to spend it together! Saturday we ran a few erands, gave Mason a bath, hung out at the house and went to dinner. We had fun with our little guy....he's gotten more smiley and active.

I love this of Blade and Mason, Mason's eyes look so pretty and blue!

Then came Sunday, and Blade had SDO Duty (Squadron Duty Officer). Everyday someone is on duty at his squadron, and they cycle through all the officers each month. Blade usually gets it a few times a month, and you have to spend the night up at base. I had always gone with Blade in the past, and now Mason and I have been tagging along too!

I've wanted to take a picture of Mason in Blades helmet ever sine he was born, and I am so happy we did it Sunday!! His little bottom fit right in the helmet and he sat just perfect for us...isn't he cute!!

The next morning Blade turned over duty, came back to the room and brought us breakfast, and then back to work. Mason and I did some grocery shopping at the Commisary, and then it was home for us!

All in all, a fun weekend spent together!

Happy 'late' Easter!

Blade, Mason and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter! I know I am a day late, but I still wanted to post about it. We started our day by going to get our taxes done. Luckily it was painless!! We grabbed a Starbucks, went to church, and then came home and made our feast. Blades brother Mark came over and we all had a nice dinner together. Mason did really good all day. In fact, he slept through most of it!

Blades parents were here a couple weeks ago and took these pics for us. Mason looked so cute in his bunny hat! We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and that you all got to spend it with the ones you love!

My Blade

Some exciting things have been going on for Blade lately, and I am sorry to say that I am late to post about them. First off, he had a birthday Monday, and Mason and I loved spending it with him. He had to work all day, came home for dinner and presents, and then went back up to base to study until midnight...so not much of a fun day, but we promise to do something special this weekend to celebrate!! Next, was promoted to Lieutenant last Friday. We are so proud of him. He is now an O3! We went up to base Friday morning and they had a small ceremony in the wardroom of the squadron where Blade and the Commanding Officer repeated the oath, and then I got to pin his new bars on his uniform. For those of you who don't know, Lieutenant Junior Grade was 1 bar, and now Lieutenant is 2. Anyways, it was special for us to be there and we are so proud of him.

Mason did really good, and slept through the whole thing! I wish he would have been awake, not that he would have known what was going on, but at least he didn't cry!

However when he did wake up, he was happy as can be for daddy! So for now Blade has been studying his tail off to make HAC, Helicopter Aircraft Commander. Just a few more weeks of events and I think we'll be there! We love you Blade and are so proud of you!

It's been a while!

HELLO EVERYONE!
I can't believe how long it's been since I've done a new posting. Well, since the last post, Blade came home (YEAH!), his brother Travis came for Spring Break, and we've just been busy with school and work. Mason went through a colicy stage where it seemed like he cried all the time! He's gotten better, but still has those times where he just wants to be held.

Travis was here the week Blade was gone to sea, so it was nice hanging out with him during the days and having his help with Mason. The pic below is of Travis, left, Blade and Mark. The only brother missing is Ryal!

It's been kinda chilly here lately, especially during the nights. I was excited to finally put him in this cuddley bear outfit, and he looked just adorable! It's his cousin Jacks from when he was a baby, and it was sweet to see him in it too! Thanks JACK, Mason loved it!
